Renault presented the Twingo small car in 1993, and with it Renault achieved a major coup. This was the time when Renault reorganized its entire product range and signaled this by giving the new models new names. The cars were no longer called R4, R5, R9, R11, R21, R25, but Twingo, Mégane, Safrane, Espace, etc. The Twingo surprised everyone with its extremely versatile interior. The rear seat can be adjusted forwards and backwards in three notches, the angle of the backrests can be adjusted, and if you pull out the headrests of the front seats and put the backrests into the lying position, you have a sleeping area of over two meters. If you don’t need the full volume of the trunk, you can push the rear seat all the way back and create a vehicle with generous legroom in the rear. This spatial concept, among others, brought rapid success to the first series Twingo, which lasted until 2007. Over half a million Twingos were sold in Germany alone. Over the years, various special series were added, and in mid-1996, a new engine with a timing belt was introduced. A large folding sunroof was also available for an additional charge, although this was recommended to be replaced every ten to fifteen years. In recent years, early Twingos have been rediscovered, and it’s not too late to find a good example. However, most of the cars are now worn out and have a significant maintenance backlog.
This Renault Twingo, featuring the first chain-driven engine, was first registered in Girona, Spain, in 1996. Until 2023, the vehicle was in Spanish hands, was driven relatively little, and was very well maintained. The Spanish papers are still available, documenting all regular Spanish technical inspections (equivalent to the German MOT) and verifying the mileage. In 2023, someone from Berlin imported the completely original vehicle to Germany, took it for a general inspection in June 2025, and then wanted to register it. Before the car could be registered, a local resident damaged the front right fender while parking, and the owner brought the vehicle to us for repairs. Although we were initially only commissioned to replace and paint the fender, the owner now asked us to put the vehicle up for sale. While we typically deal with much older vehicles, due to the Twingo’s excellent condition, we agreed to do so and are pleased to offer you this “green classic.”
We subject each vehicle to a systematic inspection—from the bodywork to the engine and electrical system. Based on this, we prepare three quotes. You decide which offer suits you best.
Economy – €5,900
Operable and roadworthy vehicle in authentic original condition with a general inspection valid until May 2027, but without German documents.
Standard – €6,800
Additionally, with new tires and a new general inspection.
Supreme – €8,500
Plus service, oil change, and new cavity and underbody wax treatment.
We’d be happy to send you the details of the three proposed offers. Or you can simply call us and we’ll explain everything to you personally.
