Practical small cars have been a Citroën tradition ever since the legendary “Duck,” the first version of which appeared in 1939. The “Duck,” officially known as the 2 CV, was followed by the Ami 6 (pronounced: a Misses), the Ami 8, the Dyane, the LN (Ellen), and the LNA (Ellena). In 1978, the Visa joined the lineup, replacing both the 2CV and the Dyane. Initially planned as a three-door, the car was finally presented exclusively as a five-door variant in 1978. Over the course of its ten years of production, the engine lineup ranged from the 0.65-liter two-cylinder with 34 hp to the 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 115 hp in the final Visa GTI. In addition, 220 Visa Mille Pistes with all-wheel drive were built, 200 of which were 122 hp and 20 Mille Pistes Evo, whose 145 hp easily coped with the vehicle’s 850 kg weight. A total of 1,254,390 of these small sedans were built by 1988. From 1984 to 2005, the standard Visa was joined by the C 15 Visa panel van, which, with a production run of 21 years, is considered Citroën’s longest-produced passenger car model. In addition to the sedan, a good 1.2 million C15s were built. This brings the total production to almost 2.5 million Visas. A convertible saloon was offered from February 1983 to July 1985, initially as the Décapotable and from 1984 as the Plein Air. Only 2,500 of these convertible sedans were built, and finding a well-preserved example today is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

This Visa Plein Air was first registered in Italy on July 3, 1984. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly where this first registration took place. There is a document dated April 6, 1995, that shows the registration to a gentleman born in 1944 in Carimate, between Milan and Como. Otherwise, little is known about the car’s history. In 2023, a Berlin collector of unusual vehicles discovered the car in Milan and spontaneously purchased it. He had the car delivered directly to us via a shipping company and commissioned us to sell this now very rare vehicle. Therefore, we thoroughly examined the Citroën convertible limousine and found that the bodywork is in very good condition. The car has apparently never had any problems with rust, and no bodywork is needed now. However, various work on the chassis, electrical system, and interior is necessary.

We subject each vehicle to a systematic inspection – from the body to the engine and electrical system. Based on this, we create three offers. You decide which offer suits you best.
